Final tips
- You have likely seen the presentation in practice; respond how you would in your office; if not, it’s probably a do-not-miss condition!
- Highlight every case Age + duration + prominent symptom + positive exam finding + (context of clinical scenario) = Likely diagnosis
- SUMMARY (3-4 words) (e.g. “rural GP with headache secondary to COVID 19 vaccination rollout”)
- WHAT IS THIS QUESTION ASKING? ( e.g. possible diagnosis, MOST likely, NEXT step, management action, immediate action etc.)
- Write investigation as you would on a request slip.
- Write medication as you would on a prescription.
- DO NOT leave a blank space – (educated guess, be brave!)
- Remember the likely diagnosis for the question (especially for KFP)
- Choose options from different drug groups (non-drug if asked)
- Common presentations = frequent questions
- Respiratory – URTI, asthma, COPD
- Cardiac – Hypertension, IHD, MI
- Dermatology – Eczema, skin Ca, psoriasis
- Back pain, minor injuries
