Death (and taxes) come to us all. But what returns us to our ultimate maker is always a source of interest.
This week saw the publication of the Deaths in Australia report which examines causes of death for the 191,000 people who died in 2022.
Put together by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the analysis is based on death certificates.
As you would expect, coronary heart disease sits top. But the fascination lies with the differences in causes of death based on age and gender and, as you will see below, Indigenous status.
The latter still makes tragic reading.
