Chlamydia & Gonorrhoeae

The sensitivity of the Chlamydia / Neisseria gonorrhoeae PCR depends on the quality of the specimen collected. It is strongly recommended that the following instructions be followed.
 
Urine specimens should contain the first 10-20 mL. of urine passed at least one hour after the patient last voided. For cervical swabs, mucus or purulent material should be cleaned from the cervix before sampling with a second swab.
